Advocacy/Policy Overview

The Lasker Foundation continues the legacy of Mary Woodard Lasker as medical research activist, advocate and educator. Mrs. Lasker focused her war against human disease by mobilizing troops of health and research advocates to deepen the national commitment to government funding for medical science.

Today the Foundation, extending a long tradition of advocacy and public education, supports studies that inform health and research economics, forums that illuminate the challenges and opportunities of medical research for health, and reports and discussion groups that address science policy.
